Breaking Out Often

question

Why do I break out so much?

answer
The hormones you release as a teen cause skin cells to shed faster and oil glands to produce more oil. When your skin produces too much oil (also called sebum), it can get trapped beneath the surface, causing it to build up and become inflamed. This results in red swollen bumps on your face. To unclog your pores, look for a cleanser with salicylic acid, which works to clear out your pores. At night, use a spot treatment with benzoyl peroxide to kill the bacteria that causes acne.

♥How to Increase Hair Growth For Women♥

According to author Lisa Akbani in her book "Every Woman's Guide to Beautiful Hair at Any Age," many factors influence hair growth and hair loss, or alopecia. Most people experience a hair growth of approximately 6 inches per year. While there's not much you can do to change this fact, there are some things you can do to help stimulate new hair growth. Additionally, by taking better care of the hair that you currently have, you minimize hair loss and help keep your hair healthy.

Step 1

Massage your scalp and roots with peppermint oil. Peppermint oil helps to stimulate the hair follicle, helping to promote new hair growth. Apply a few drops of peppermint oil to the tips of your fingers. Starting at the base of your neck, gently massage your scalp using circular motions. Move around your scalp until you get to the crown of your head.

Step 2

Wash your hair with a shampoo containing rosemary. Rosemary helps to stimulate hair growth, prevent hair loss and ease dry, flaky scalps. Try to wash your hair every other day. According to Sandi Brenner in her book, "Beauty and the Budget," washing your hair every day can cause frizziness and dryness. Dry hair tends to break off and split more easily, making it seem as though your hair is not actually growing at all.

Step 3

Condition your hair with a gentle conditioner formulated for your hair type each time you shampoo. Conditioning your hair helps to restore moisture and softness, keeping your hair more pliable and less susceptible to breakage.

Step 4

Eat plenty of protein-rich foods. Hair is mostly made up of protein and requires enough protein in your diet to grow. According to author Akbani, your hair is approximately 97 percent protein and 3 percent moisture. Make sure you get enough protein in your diet by consuming foods such as lean meats, legumes and nuts.

Step 5

Take a vitamin B complex supplement if you do not currently get enough B vitamins in your diet. Vitamin B complex is mostly found in foods such as whole grains, meats, eggs and green leafy vegetables. According to the University of Maryland Medical Center, B complex vitamins are required to maintain healthy hair.

Things You'll Need

  • Peppermint oil
  • Rosemary shampoo
  • Gentle conditioner
  • Vitamin B complex supplement

♡How to Make Your Eyelashes Longer♡

How do you get those long lashes you've always wanted and make them stand out? Read on to find out some of the ways, both naturally and with make-up, that you can help make this happen.

Vaseline Method

1. Get an old brush from any mascara tube. Wash the mascara off the brush with water. This might be a bit messy so use soap.

2. Find baby powder and put it all around the mascara brush.

3. Slowly brush your eyelashes until there are no clumps of mascara on them. Wash off the brush with water.

4. Brush your eyelashes with Vaseline using the mascara brush. It may take about five weeks to see a difference.

Lip Balm Method

1. Use lip balm on your eyelashes to make them appear curlier. This will also make the eyelashes grow longer over time.
  • Flavored Chapstick or lip balm has the best results rather than the unflavored ones. Open up the lip balm.

2. Apply to your eyelashes. Go from the inner corners of your eyes to where your eyelashes stop. Press the lip balm down to your skin and make sure your skin gets some lip balm as well.

3. Keep this on as you go to sleep. Make sure that you wear a sleeping mask. If you must, use a silk one.

4. Wash the lip balm off your eyes when you wake up. Re-apply two coats of lip balm before leaving for the day so it can help penetrate.

Other Methods

1. Take supplements daily. Your body needs amino acids to grow any type of hair. Potassium, calcium and magnesium all help eyelashes grow. In addition, iron, copper and chromium help stop the loss of eyelashes.

2. Take your makeup off before you go to bed. If you leave mascara on overnight, it leaves your lashes more brittle and susceptible to breaking.

3. Improve your diet. Without proper nutrition, your body will cease to grow hair, including your eyelashes.

4. Use eye curlers. These hand-operated devices are designed specifically for curling your eyelashes and making them appear longer.

5. Use mascara. This is perhaps the most obvious option. This cosmetic can give the appearance of lengthened, thickened or darkened eyelashes, depending on the brand and type of product.

Note:

  • Doing these steps for at least a week will make your eyelashes thicker.
  • The eyelash curler also makes your lashes grow upwards if you squeeze hard enough each time.
  • Be sure to sanitize your brushes before use.
