What are the best exercises that will help me work off the dreaded "muffin top"?

Unfortunately, there is no such thing as spot-reducing. The key to fat burning is a routine that includes cardio, strength training, and maintaining a healthy diet. Outside of your traditional cardio formats like running, the elliptical machine, spinning, and group fitness classes, try incorporating bursts of cardio in your strength routine as well. For example, after you do a series of squats and shoulder presses, do jumping jacks for 30 seconds before starting your next set or moving to a new exercise. This will keep your heart rate up so you'll end up getting more out of your workout. Maintaining a well-rounded strength routine is key, because the more muscle you have on your body, the more calories you will burn throughout the day! Lastly, you may want to take another look at your diet. Those extra 200 calories from that glass of wine or small bag of chips could be the reason for those stubborn "love handles."
